Lionel Messi picked up his sixth European Golden Shoe earlier this week after his 36 La Liga goals last season.

It was the third consecutive year that Messi scooped the accolade.

However, the Argentine may struggle to get his hands on it for a seventh time.

The 32-year-old’s campaign has got off to a slow start after being hampered by injury.

But he’s starting to get back to full fitness.

Before the international break, he scored a delicious free-kick against Seville to open his account.

And he bagged another in Barcelona's comfortable 3-0 win over Eibar this afternoon.

However, if he really wanted to, he could have scored more.

Antoine Griezmann had scored in the first-half to put Ernesto Valverde’s side ahead.

Messi then made it 2-0 thanks to Griezmann’s assist.

Eight minutes later, the Frenchman put Messi through on goal again.

Messi looked certain to score his second but he unselfishly squared the ball to Luis Suarez to make it 3-0.

In fact, it wasn’t even unselfish. Suarez wasn’t even in a great position for Messi to square the ball to.

He did anyway and it worked.

Griezmann, Messi and Suarez all combining and all scoring.

Watch out, La Liga.

It’s obviously not the first time Messi has been unselfish during his career.

The superstar has often allowed teammates to take penalties if they ask him and is always squaring the ball to players in a better position.
