During the Premier League era, Manchester United have rarely been the underdogs heading into a fixture at Old Trafford.

But that’s the reality this weekend.

The Red Devils are priced as high as 4/1 to beat fierce rivals Liverpool at home on Sunday afternoon. Jurgen Klopp’s side, meanwhile, are 7/10 with the bookmakers at the time of writing.

There’s a huge gulf in quality between the two north-west clubs right now.

Liverpool, the reigning European champions, have won all eight of their Premier League fixtures so far this season and can restore their eight-point lead over second-placed Man City by beating United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s beleaguered team, meanwhile, are currently 14th in the table and just one point outside the relegation zone.

Former England international Danny Mills was asked to do a combined Man Utd and Liverpool XI earlier this week and named an entire Liverpool XI.

With the exception of David de Gea, Harry Maguire, Paul Pogba and perhaps one or two others, it’s extremely hard to think of many United players who could seriously challenge for a first-team spot at Anfield.

Over on YouTube, Man Utd fan Adam McKola of FullTimeDevils and Liverpool supporter Paul Machin of The Redmen TV were asked to rank United and Liverpool’s current players (all those who have appeared in the Premier League this season) from best to worst for Squawka.

Deciding on the order obviously caused plenty of disagreements - but do you agree with their final list?

It’s hard to argue with the bottom four. Nemanja Matic, Ashley Young, Marcos Rojo and Fred are four players that United fans wouldn’t be sad to see leave Old Trafford in 2020.

They’re followed by Liverpool trio Adrian, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren.

Lallana behind the likes of Andreas Pereira and Diogo Dalot? Maybe a tad harsh on the England international.

Juan Mata behind Tahith Chong, Dalot and Angel Gomes also looks a bit odd, even though the Spaniard’s best years are now behind him.

Jesse Lingard above Daniel James, Joe Gomes, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and even Scott McTominay seems generous considering how poor the England midfielder has been over the past 12 months or so.

As we go higher up the list we have Marcus Rashford above Divock Origi, Andrew Robertson behind Maguire, Pogba and De Gea and then five Liverpool players at the top assembled in the following order: Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Alisson Becker, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
