The New Day's Xavier Woods may be out for some time after picking up a nasty injury during a recent WWE live event in Australia.WWE is currently in the middle of a tour of Australia with some of its roster, with one of their events taking place in Sydney on Monday night. The opening match of the show saw The Revival's Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder take on The New Day's Xavier Woods and Big E, but the match was brought to a stop at one point due to an injury.During the tag team match, Woods dropped to the mat after running the ropes. The referee went to check on him and immediately threw up the 'X' symbol afterward, calling the match off on the spot.WWE and Woods himself have now confirm that he suffered an Achilles injury.

It doesn't look promising at the moment, but fingers crossed Woods isn't out of WWE action for an extended period of time.

The New Day were booked in Crown Jewel's 'largest Tag Team Turmoil Match in history' on October 31 to crown the best tag team in the world.

The Viking Raiders, Heavy Machinery, Lucha House Party, Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins, The Revival, The O.C., Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode, and The B-Team are also booked for the match.

The New Day would be considered by many to be one of the favourites to win this match given the rise the team has had over the past few years, especially in 2019 with Kofi Kingston's WWE title run.

However, at least for now, it doesn't look like Woods will be competing in the ring on Halloween in Saudi Arabia due to his injury.

Woods and The New Day look set to be a key part of SmackDown on Fox moving forward though, as they were selected in the first round by the blue brand in night two of the WWE Draft last week on Raw.

Fingers crossed Woods is able to return to the ring soon.
