We're now nine games into the Premier League season and there's just over three quarters of the campaign left to go.

A number of players have had disappointing seasons so far, including many from Manchester United, Newcastle and Norwich.

But who exactly have been the worst players in England's top tier this season?

Although they don't necessarily mean everything, we've taken a look at stats provided by WhoScored.com in order to list the five worst performers in every position this campaign.

We have decided to omit any player who has played less than three full games this season (270 minutes) as it would be unfair to judge a player on such a small sample size.

Goalkeepers:

5. Adrian - 6.41

4. Tom Heaton - 6.39

3. Angus Gunn - 6.34

2. Kepa Arrizbalaga - 6.32

1. Ben Foster - 6.01

Foster has conceded 21 times in nine games this season and finds himself as statistically the worst player in the league this season.

Kepa is the most expensive goalkeeper in history but also finds himself in the bottom five, as does Liverpool stand-in, Adrian.

Right-backs:

5. Yan Valery - 6.54

4. Adam Smith - 6.48

3. Max Aarons - 6.31

2. Kiko Femenia - 6.20

1. Emil Krafth - 6.15

Newcastle will not be happy with how their summer signing, Krafth, has performed this season.

It's no surprise to see the starting right-backs for Watford, Norwich and Southampton all make the list.

Centre-backs:

5. Craig Dawson - 6.48

4. Ben Godfrey - 6.47

3. Conor Coady - 6.42

2. Maya Yoshida - 6.40

1. Romain Saiss - 6.38

Wolves were one of the most impressive teams in the Premier League last season but, perhaps surprisingly, two of their centre-backs have been among the worst in their position this campaign.

Left-backs:

5. Sead Kolasinac - 6.61

4. Jamal Lewis - 6.64

3. Jose Holebas - 6.48

2. Neil Taylor - 6.43

1. Ryan Bertrand - 6.32

Bertrand was once England's starting left-back but has struggled massively this year.

Kolasinac is the first name from the 'big six' to be among the lowest-rated players in their respective positions.

Defensive midfielders:

5. Jefferson Lerma - 6.53

4. Ruben Neves - 6.50

3. Etienne Capoue - 6.50

2. Leander Dendoncker - 6.48

1. Morgan Schneiderlin - 6.07

It's been a big fall from grace for Schneiderlin, who was once one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

Two Wolves players also make the list, with Neves' inclusion in the bottom five surprising.

Centre midfielders:

5. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - 6.52

4. Hamza Choudhury - 6.37

3. Aaron Mooy - 6.35

2. Joe Willock - 6.33

1. Pablo Fornals - 6.24

West Ham's signing of Fornals has simply not worked out so far. Neither has Brighton's signing of Mooy.

Unai Emery decided to promote Willock from the U23s this season but that decision has not been justified, with the youngster struggling so far this season.

Attacking midfielders:

5. Marco Stiepermann - 6.39

4. Denis Praet - 6.39

3. Jesse Lingard - 6.26

2. Miguel Almiron - 6.25

1. Juan Mata - 6.17

United have struggled to create chances this season so it's no surprise to see Mata and Lingard among the worst in their position.

A lot was expected when Newcastle smashed their transfer record to sign Almiron in January but he is yet to score in the Premier League.

Right-wingers:

5. Christian Pulisic - 6.68

4. Harry Wilson - 6.65

3. Ayoze Perez - 6.57

2. Andreas Pereira - 6.57

1. Trezeguet - 6.55

Trezeguet has already been sent off for Aston Villa this season and has recorded just one assist from eight games.

Big things were expected from Perez at Leicester but he has struggled thus far. Wilson has scored three times this season but also makes the list.

Pulisic has not looked like a £58 million player and is now struggling to get into the starting line-up at Stamford Bridge.

Left-wingers:

5. Andros Townsend - 6.69

4. Jeffrey Schlupp - 6.68

3. Gerard Deulofeu - 6.65

2. Christian Atsu - 6.63

1. Ryan Fraser - 6.55

Fraser was one of the best wingers in the Premier League last season but he has been unable to carry on that form into this campaign.

Centre forwards:

5. Andre Gray - 6.37

4. Che Adams - 6.34

3. Patrick Cutrone - 6.31

2. Moise Kean - 6.18

1. Glenn Murray - 6.16

Murray has failed to score in his opening seven games. At 36 years old, his career looks like it's coming to an end.

Kean was signed for £25 million this summer but is yet to open his account for Everton.

Cutrone and Adams have both struggled since signing for Wolves and Southampton respectively in the summer.
