Maguire only joined the Red Devils in the summer but considering some of his teammates in the starting line-up included James Garner, 18, and 19-year-old Brandon Williams, the England centre-back was a fairly obvious choice.
But things didn’t entirely go to plan for Maguire.
The 26-year-old forgot he had to take part in the traditional pre-game coin toss and had to be called over by referee Xavier Fernandez.
“Maguire! Harry!,” the referee shouted before Maguire awkwardly came over.

Maguire forgets he’s Man Utd captain
Nothing like forgetting that you’re the captain!
Man United prevailed in Serbia but it wasn’t pretty.
An Anthony Martial penalty in the first half handed them a 1-0 win which leaves the Red Devils on the brink of qualifying from Group L, but the performance won’t have done anything to silence Solskjaer’s critics.
Martial’s penalty was the only shot on target that United managed in the whole 90 minutes.
And the Premier League outfit were hanging on in the second half as the hosts pushed for an equaliser.
It was United’s first win away from home since they defeated Paris Saint-Germain in a memorable night in France back in March.
Solskjaer was still United’s interim boss back then.
Oh what United fans would give for that kind of euphoria again.
It was inevitable after that Paris miracle that the Norwegian would get the manager’s job on a permanent basis but, just seven months on, questions are already being asked about whether it was the right choice.
Solskjaer isn’t winning anyone over and United don’t appear to be heading anywhere.
