The heavyweight division has yet again become the platform for enticing and entertaining action in boxing after experiencing a dearth in quality of superstars in the category for quite a lengthy period.

But, with the talents like Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury, Dillian Whyte, Andy Ruiz Jr etc., the heavyweight has once more placed itself as the top of the weight categories.

Tyson Fury was one of the first names who bought the British boxing scene among the elite of elites. His win over Wladimir Klitschko back in 2015 confirmed the rise of a new megastar inside the boxing ring by ending the Ukrainian's dominance for a decade.

However, things went downhill for the Brit as he battled depression and several mental issues since, resulting in him relinquishing his unified titles and sidelining himself entirely away from the ring for almost three years.

Fury made a remarkable comeback in 2018, although the level of competition in four of the five fights he has been is still debatable. Fury's fans are optimistic the 31-year-old will regain the lost glory in the upcoming months, however.

Mike Tyson was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles and the only heavyweight to unify them successfully.

The American ace managed to defend his titles for nine times, which included impressive victories over Larry Holmes and Frank Bruno. His win against Michael Spinks in 91 seconds in the first round in 1988 for the lineal championship brought him into the limelight.

Boxing fans have discussed who between Tyson Fury and prime Mike Tyson would outlast each other in the ring, and it is quite an interesting debate!

It is a given that both fanbases would back their star to be the dominant force if the pair faced off.

One fan stated: "If you asked me a few months ago I would say Tyson demolishes him. But Fury ate the biggest hit from Deontay Wilder (one of the hardest HW punchers ever) and he stood up like it was nothing.

"I think Iron Mike won't be able to overcome Fury's defence, long reach, stamina etc and even if he lands some great hits it still won't be enough to knock Fury out cold.
"I'd say Fury wins by easy UD."

To the question of who would reign supreme, another boxing faithful responded by saying: "Who fought better competition? Mike Tyson 88 had beaten everyone around. And he was only 22! I'm not sure he fought anyone as dominant as Klitschko though, unless you count the Holmes comeback.

"Who hits harder? Mike by a long way.

"Who is the greater boxer pound for pound? They're both heavyweights! I'd say Mike was the better boxer but Fury not far behind but with a huge size and reach advantage.

"Who wins? Similar to Fury v Wilder. Fury on points or Mike by stoppage."

A Fury fan took the stage and put forward his opinion and added: "Wilder didn't have to reach for Furys jaw. Tyson would have to break Fury down or jump up to get to the jaw.

"No way does Fury make his jaw readily available to get crushed."

Although the boxing faithful is split on who secures the top spot, it is indeed tough to call if any of the superstars can thoroughly outperform the other, but, the fight would definitely be a closely fought contest.

Fury is aiming for the highly anticipated rematch against Deontay Wilder while Mike Tyson is happily retired after such a glorious pro career.
