Both sides may deny it, but there definitely is a war between WWE and All Elite Wrestling.

AEW Dynamite and NXT have gone head-to-head for the last four weeks, and every single time AEW have come out on top.

Despite NXT doubling in run-time and adding some stars to their roster, it seems like wrestling fans want to watch a fresh product live, and who can blame them when the likes of Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega and PAC are on their books?

Despite starting off with an incredibly healthy 1.4 million viewers in the States, AEW's viewership has dipped below the million mark, with NXT also a few hundred thousand down on their Wednesday night competition.

We've already seen Seth Rollins make a controversial comment towards an AEW superstar this week, and now Jericho has fired back in WWE's direction.

When asked about a potential match with Kenny Omega in the future, Rollins responded by saying he would happily deal with 'The Cleaner' once he moved over from the 'minor leagues'.

That comment clearly didn't sit well with Y2J, who has not aimed fire at Rollins, but instead at NXT.

“NXT is still the minor league. Those guys are still unknown performers, it’s not a competition to us and I knew we’d win because we have more star power," Jericho told the Wrestling Daft podcast, per eWrestlingNews.

"When you look at the end of our first week of TV who was out there at the end? Chris Jericho – we know him! Dustin Rhodes – we know him! Jon Moxley – we know him, he used to be another name but we know who that is. Jim Ross is commentating – I know that guy!

"Our competition is RAW, is SmackDown, is Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, and all those guys!

"I think it was a stroke of genius by Vince McMahon to put NXT on against us because it took the focus off ‘the main show and AEW’ and put it on ‘the minor league and AEW.'"

Whilst their ratings are a long way off Raw and SmackDown at this point, Y2J has a point himself when it comes to the star power between AEW and NXT.

However well-known their big names are though, doesn't necessarily translate to match quality and entertainment value.

The likes of Finn Balor, Matt Riddle, Johnny Gargano and many more would argue that NXT are on a level playing field with AEW, but the true test will be selling out arenas if they end up going on the road on Wednesday nights away from Full Sail.
