Chelsea have continued their fine winning form with a 4-2 victory at Burnley.

Having won in Amsterdam earlier in the week, Frank Lampard's side consolidated their place in the Premier League top four with a fine performance at Turf Moor.

In truth, the game was all about Christian Pulisic. The American opened his goal-scoring account for the Blues in the 21st minute, profiting from a mistake by Matthew Lowton around the halfway line.

And it got even better for him just before the break, once again showing brilliant footwork and then benefitting from a deflection to beat Nick Pope at his near-post.

He even penned his name in the history books in the second-half, completing a 'perfect hat-trick' by heading home from Mason Mount's brilliant cross.

Burnley 2-4 Chelsea

It crowned him as just the second American to score a Premier League hat-trick, matching the feat of Clint Dempsey from 2012.

And it looked as though Burnley had lost their heads moments afterwards, Willian finding the bottom corner to seemingly kill off the game.

There was late drama, though, as Chelsea seemed to wobble from their apparently unassailable position and Jay Rodriguez sparked some late nerves with a moment of brilliance.

Rodriguez's goal of the season contender

The Burnley man will be comfortably in the goal of the season conversation after scoring an absolute belter, bamboozling Kepa Arrizabalaga with a strike from nearly 30 yards.

Things got even nervier just a few minutes later and Arrizabalaga won't want to look back on his role in Dwight McNeil's 89th-minute strike in a hurry.

The youngster found the net with a fizzing strike at the near post and while it sparked a few jittery moments for Chelsea, they managed to crawl over the line for a 4-2 win.
