Romelu Lukaku made one of the biggest moves of the summer when he joined Internazionale in a £75m deal.

The Belgian always looked likely to leave, having been in and out of the Manchester United side under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And so the only real question was where would he go?

Juventus appeared to want Lukaku quite badly but couldn't negotiate a deal with United, trying and failing to swap Paulo Dybala for the forward.

That one dragged on for quite some time before eventually breaking down.

And so Inter swooped in, allowing Antonio Conte to sign a player he'd desperately wanted at Chelsea back in 2017.

Conte had failed back then, settling for Alvaro Morata as United signed Lukaku.

But now he's got his man - and you can see exactly why he's wanted him for years.

Lukaku has now scored six times in his first nine Serie A games for Inter, which is the first time a player has managed that for the Nerazzurri in a decade.

The last player to do it was Diego Milito back in 2009, who went on to have a fantastically successful career there.

The Argentine scored 30 goals in his debut season as Inter won Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and the Champions League.

That'll be tough for Lukaku to top.

Funnily enough, Milito thrived under Jose Mourinho, a manager Lukaku knows all too well.

Mourinho never quite got Lukaku playing at his best for United and it was something that almost certainly led to his dismissal.

But Lukaku's form also highlights United's bizarre decision to go without a replacement striker.

As he bangs in the goals for Inter, United instead stuck with what they had, despite receiving such a large fee.

You've got to wonder if keeping him may have been a better choice, especially as he shines under Conte.
