Manchester United have become the first team to score 2000 Premier League goals.

The Red Devils hit their landmark goal against Norwich City on Sunday afternoon - and Scott McTominay was the unlikely goalscorer.

The Scottish midfielder rifled the ball into the bottom corner of the net past Tim Krul to give United the lead at Carrow Road.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side had the chance to make it 2-0 shortly afterwards when they were awarded a penalty following a VAR review.

However, Marcus Rashford spurned the opportunity to double United’s advantage from the spot.

But they still led thanks to McTominay’s strike, which you can watch here…

A lovely finish from the man affectionately nicknamed ‘McSauce’ by the United faithful.

Mark Hughes scored United’s first-ever Premier League goal back in August 1992.

Andy Cole hit number 500 in February 1999, while Cristiano Ronaldo made it 1000 Premier League goals in October 2005.

The 1500th goal was netted by Dimitar Berbatov in December 2011, and McTominay is the unlikely scorer of goal No. 2000.

Rashford, meanwhile, made amends for his missed penalty by getting himself on the scoresheet shortly afterwards.
