Norwich City goalkeeper Tim Krul saves two first-half penalties vs Manchester United

Manchester United visited Norwich on Sunday evening desperately needing a win.

Ahead of kickoff, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were 14th in the table, just two points above the relegation zone.

But they made a good start at Carrow Road.

Scott McTominay scored after 21 minutes to give United the lead - that was also the club's 2000th in the Premier League - a pretty good landmark to reach.

Marcus Rashford doubled the lead 10 minutes later and the visitors went into half-time 2-0 up. But things could have been much more comfortable.

Incredibly, Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul saved two penalties in the first half.

His first was against Rashford and the Dutchman made a very smart stop down low to his right.

United were then awarded another penalty and this time, Krul saved from Anthony Martial. This time, he pushed the ball away down to his left.

You can see Martial's penalty below.

Incredible stuff. It's not often a goalkeeper saves one penalty, let alone two in the same game.

Sadly though, Krul's heroics were all for nothing as he and his Norwich teammates were beaten comfortably at home.

United added to their two first-half goals in the 73rd minute when Martial made up for missing his spot-kick.

Martial did score in the second half

Onel Hernandez did pull one back for the hosts with two minutes to play, but it was nothing more than a consolation goal as the Red Devils ran out 3-1 winners.

Despite missing two penalties, United were impressive in their victory and move up to seventh in the Premier League.

Norwich though, are now winless in five games and have picked up just one point since beating Manchester City in September.

Norwich could be in trouble

Currently 19th in the Premier League, the Canaries are now in a spot of trouble as we move towards what's going to be a busy period of festive football.
