Jesse Lingard's clothing range is sadly going the same way as his Premier League career - not very well.

The Manchester United forward officially launched the clothing brand 'JLingz' last summer following his successful World Cup with England out in Russia.

However, it has been announced that the clothing brand has lost over £200,000 in its first year.

Manchester Evening News report that unaudited accounts submitted to Companies House show a loss of £211,688, due to the amount the company owes it creditors.

The only silver lining for Lingard is that the company was only selling products for the second half of the year the accounts relate to, up to January of this year.

Lingard was heavily criticised for announcing the release of his clothing brand just before United's 3-1 loss to Liverpool last December - the game which got Jose Mourinho sacked.

Red Devils legends Gary Neville and Roy Keane were very vocal on the matter in the build-up to the game.

"I've got no problem with him launching a clothes range to be honest with you, but before Liverpool away, the biggest match of the season, don't launch a clothes brand," Neville said.

Keane went on to add: "If there was a good, strong dressing room, that wouldn't be tolerated."

It's safe to say things are not going swimmingly for Lingard right now.

The 26-year-old's form in 2019 has been nothing short of disastrous, with Lingard yet to score or assist in the Premier League this year.

He's also lost his place in Gareth Southgate's England squad, further decreasing the potential of his brand.

However, Lingard has maintained a strong following on social media, boasting over 6.6m Instagram followers, a platform where he regularly advertises his merchandise.

Maybe the accounts from the company's second year will make for kinder reading...
