Here at GIVEMESPORT, we've started to reminisce on the end of a footballing decade.

We're gradually getting closer to 2020 and before we get too excited about a 'Roaring Twenties' in the beautiful game, it'd be rude not to reflect on 10 years of great goals, matches and memories.

That being said, we're pretty sure the 2010s won't live too long in the memory for Arsenal fans who - despite still watching some fantastic moments - have largely been left frustrated.

But if we forget the 8-2 defeat at Old Trafford and 6-1 slaughtering at Liverpool for a moment, we've decided to look back on the greatest XI that has pulled on an Arsenal shirt since 2010.

There were some no-brainers along the way as well as some incredibly tough calls so, without further ado, check out our suggestion for Arsenal's best possible team from 2010 to 2020.

GK - Wojciech Szczesny

A tough one. Sure, Szczesny had some wobbly moments in north London, but he was undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the world during the 2011-12 and 2012/13 campaigns in particular.

Petr Cech comes a close second place and was pretty consistent for three seasons, while Bernd Leno hasn't done enough to justify selection after just one and a half years. The less said about Manuel Almunia and David Ospina the better.

RB - Bacary Sagna

Plenty of fans will feel as though Hector Bellerin deserves a place, but Sagna consistently played at a top level for Arsenal that his Spanish successor has only threatened to reach since 2014.

Sagna was arguably Arsenal's most underrated player during the doomed title charges in 2010/11 and 2013/14 and deserved more than a solitary FA Cup victory from his seven-year spell.

CB - Laurent Koscielny

Despite doing his best to ruin his reputation this summer, there can be no denying that Koscielny was an inspired signing for the Gunners and was largely faultless across 353 appearances over the decade.

CB - Per Mertesacker (C)

Unlike his centre-back partner in the team, Mertesacker was always universally loved at the Emirates Stadium and was a true professional across 221 outings between 2011 and 2018.

Arsenal fans will never forget the 2017 FA Cup final that the 'Big Friendly German' captained them to victory in.

LB - Nacho Monreal

Arsene Wenger certainly dropped his fair share of transfer clangers, but signing Monreal was another defensive bargain as well as a no-brainer in this team. You can't complain with 251 games from just £8.5 million.

CM - Aaron Ramsey

Ramsey entered the decade on the treatment table and could never have anticipated what the next nine years at Arsenal would have offered, bagging 64 goals in 369 matches and scoring winning goals in two FA Cup finals.

CM - Santi Cazorla

Cazorla is worthy of a place in this team on his story alone. However, the Spaniard is more than that and the Premier League has seldom seen a more talented central midfielder, even if his time in England was cruelly cut short.

Cazorla's greatest moments included the hat-trick at Reading, scoring a worldie at Upton Park and that FA Cup final free-kick in 2014.

RW - Theo Walcott

Groan all you like Arsenal fans, but the Emirates Stadium has hardly seen a more consistent goal-scorer than Walcott across the last decade, bagging a handsome 90 goals from the 2010-11 season onwards.

CAM - Mesut Ozil

We genuinely considered picking Cesc Fabregas here. However, having spent the back end of 2009-10 out with a broken leg and never really catching fire during his final season at the club, it only made sense to make way for Ozil.

For all the turbulence of the last 18 months, the German has produced some otherworldly displays since 2013 and has provided an eye-watering 52 assists in the Premier League alone.

LW - Alexis Sanchez

Don't let his hilarious Manchester United spell deceive you, Sanchez was absolutely world-class in north London and scored 80 goals - including two FA Cup final strikes - in three and a half seasons.

ST - Robin van Persie

It will pain every Arsenal fan to admit this is the correct decision. Despite moving to United in 2012, Van Persie scored 59 goals, won the Golden Boot and bagged the PFA award in his final two seasons.

Admittedly, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is threatening to reach those same goal-scoring heights, while Olivier Giroud is worthy of an honourable mention for his 105-goal haul.

So, there you have it. What changes would you make for your Arsenal 'Team of the Decade' or do you think we're spot on?

While it might not be the astonishing Arsenal XI you could make from the 2000s, there's no doubting that the Gunners have still been blessed with some world-class players in the 10 years since.
