Cristiano Ronaldo was the hero once again as he helped Juventus to all three points against Genoa on Wednesday evening.

Juventus took the lead through Leonardo Bonucci after 35 minutes, only for the away side to level the scores four minutes later.

There were three players sent off in the second half, two for Genoa and one for Juventus, but the home side were struggling to find a winner.

Step forward Ronaldo.

The Portuguese legend bailed his team out in the final seconds of injury time.

Ronaldo thought he had the winner in the 92nd minute, but his goal was ruled out by VAR.

But he was not to be denied. He won a penalty in the dying moments of stoppage time and then made no mistake as he lashed his effort past Ionut Radu.

Classic Ronaldo. He may now be 34 years old but he always finds ways to perform when his side needs him the most.

However, there has been debate whether they should have been given a penalty at all.

That's because Ronaldo has been accused of diving to win the spot-kick.

Ronaldo went down under the challenge of Antonio Sanabria but many don't think there was contact.

Someone has also made a slow-motion video of the incident...

Ronaldo spoke to the media after winning all three points for his side.

"I am very happy," Ronaldo told Sky Sport Italia, per Goal.

"[It was] a very difficult match against an organised team but we are Juventus, the motto is to [fight to] the end.

"We are very happy with the three points. We created a lot and we deserved it.

"Inter ahead in the standings was an extra stimulus."
