For the last century, we’ve had the pleasure of watching two of the greatest players to have ever played football.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have dominated the sport, sharing 10 Ballon d’Ors between them.

But instead of just appreciating the two superstars, many fans have turned it into a rivalry.

Team Messi and Team Ronaldo have argued for the past 10+ years over who is the GOAT.

After almost every game, there’s ‘point scoring’ on social media as one set of fans try to prove that their favourite player is better than the other one.

And there was yet another ‘comparison’ last night.

Ronaldo won Juventus an injury-time penalty against Genoa in controversial circumstances.

He went down under the challenge of Antonio Sanabria and replays showed that there was very little - if any - contact.

Ronaldo didn’t mind though as he stepped up and gave Juventus a last-gasp victory.

But Messi fans just had to get involved.

One fan created a video showing ‘one of the many differences’ between Ronaldo and Messi.

They created a side-by-side video of Ronaldo’s ‘dive’ from last night and Messi’s incredible moment of sportsmanship from last season.

During Barcelona vs Rayo Vallecano, Messi told the referee not to award a penalty for a foul on him as VAR looked at the incident.

At the time, Barca were drawing 1-1 before going on to win 3-1.

But would Messi have done the same if it occurred in injury-time?
