WWE broke new ground in Saudi Arabia tonight in a move that they've been pushing for for some time. Before Super ShowDown in June, WWE tried desperately to get a women's match on the card, which would've been the first women's wrestling match in Saudi Arabia EVER.Unfortunately the move was rejected by the Saudi government, but after much persuasion, Vince McMahon got his way at Crown Jewel.Natalya lost out at Super ShowDown when she was meant to face Alexa Bliss, but this time she got to face Lacey Evans, and she clearly looked very emotional as she made her way to the ring. The Riyadh crowd, who had given great reactions for everyone all night, welcomed both women like they were heroes, but there was an unsavoury moment during Nattie's entrance.

As she walked down the long ramp towards the ring, it appeared that a bottle was thrown in her direction by a WWE fan.

The reasoning for why this happened is unclear. Saudi laws have prevented women from doing a lot of things in the country, but that is slowly starting to change, as proven by letting both Natalya and Evans wrestle.

Was the fan angry that the government had allowed the women to wrestle? Who knows but the action was certainly condemned on social media.

Nattie didn't let the bottle-throwing incident get to her though - herself and Evans strutted their stuff in the ring and they even got a 'this is awesome' chant from the mostly-respectful crowd in Riyadh.

They embraced post-match in a clearly emotional scene, and fellow WWE superstars were quick to praise the two, including Carmella, WWE Hall of Famer Edge and former world champion Kofi Kingston.

The earlier incident was a sour moment, but the scenes post-match meant that it was almost all forgotten about.

Who knows - maybe at the next Saudi show we will see more superstars like Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks compete!
