Jurgen Klopp could be forgiven if part of him wasn’t overly delighted when Divock Origi scored a dramatic late equaliser to make it 5-5 against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

The Belgian striker’s goal sent the tie to a penalty shoot-out, which Liverpool then won to book their place in the quarter-finals.

This means yet another fixture for Klopp and his players to prepare for. Their schedule between now and January is intense, to say the least.

Liverpool have six fixtures in November - which, of course, also features an international ‘break’ - and then have at least eight fixtures to play in December.

As the reigning European champions, Klopp and his players will take part in the annual FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar this December. Their first match of the competition will be on December 18.

But they’re also scheduled to face Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals around the same time. That fixture, as things stand, will happen on either December 17 or 18.

This has prompted Liverpool to speak to the EFL, according to the Telegraph, who understand the Reds are considering playing two games, with two different teams, on the same night.

One team would play against Villa in Birmingham, while the other would play the Club World Cup semi-final almost 4,500 miles away at the Education City Stadium in Doha.

Liverpool’s strongest XI would presumably take part in the Club World Cup fixture. It’s obviously a more prestigious trophy to win than the League Cup because qualifying for the tournament requires winning the Champions League.

Per the Mirror, Liverpool’s team in Qatar should feature all of the club’s star players, including Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk.

Klopp is expected to take all of his first-choice players with him to the Club World Cup and should deploy his strongest possible XI, which looks like this…

With that team, Liverpool would start the Club World Cup as the clear favourites.

And now for Liverpool’s second XI, which could also feature some household names.

The Mirror predict that the likes of Divock Origi, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner could be among the starters at Villa Park.

However, this begs the obvious question: if this lot are playing in the Carabao Cup, which players would be on the bench over in Doha?

The Mirror have also created a third XI and perhaps this group of youngsters would be the substitutes in the two matches.

This team features a number of talented starlets including Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher, Neco Williams and Sepp van den Berg.

Klopp will be desperately hoping that his side's Carabao Cup clash against Villa can be rescheduled for early January, to avoid such a headache.
