The Premier League is brimming with young talent once again this season.

Tammy Abraham has been banging in the goals for Chelsea, while Trent Alexander-Arnold is already a Champions League winner and Ballon d'Or nominee at the age of 21.

Yet at the other end of the spectrum, there are players who show no signs of slowing down well into their thirties.

Currently, the top flight's leading goalscorer is Leicester's Jamie Vardy (32-years-old).

And we've all seen how pivotal Fernandinho, 34, is to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side.

Ultimately, English football has witnessed sensations of all ages, including goalscorers.

So, with the help of the record books and Football365, we've taken a look at the players with the most goals at every age from 16 to 40.

Most PL goals as a 16-year-old – James Milner (2)

There's nothing boring about this record. Milner's goal for Leeds in a 2-1 win over Sunderland made him the youngest ever Premier League goalscorer, until he was surpassed by James Vaughan three years later.

Most PL goals as a 17-year-old – Wayne Rooney (6)

The teenager never looked back after that rocket on debut against Arsenal. The future England captain was prolific over the next couple of years, earning his big move to Manchester United.

Most PL goals as an 18-year-old – Michael Owen (23)

It's a pity Owen's popularity took such a nosedive among Liverpool fans due to his later moves. He scored 118 goals in 216 at Anfield, winning a Ballon d'Or.

Most PL goals as a 19-year-old – Robbie Fowler (25)

Fowler, of course, had two spells on Merseyside but it was the first that saw him elevated to 'God' status. Despite being an Everton fan, he immediately became a sensation thanks to 12 goals in his 13 games.

Most PL goals as a 20-year-old – Robbie Fowler (29)

That man again. Although Liverpool weren't shining as a whole, Fowler continued to dominate with even more goals than in his previous year.

Most PL goals as a 21-year-old – Harry Kane (21)

Tim Sherwood will tell you he was the one that gave Harry Kane his big breakthrough, but it was under Mauricio Pochettino that the now-England skipper really started to flourish.

Most PL goals as a 22-year-old – Andy Cole (33)

Best known for his years at Manchester United, but it was in fact Newcastle who broke their club record to procure a young Cole - a lofty £1.75million. What would that get you now?

Most PL goals as a 23-year-old – Alan Shearer (31)

Shearer's record at Blackburn in the mid-90s was incredible: 112 goals in 138 games.

Most PL goals as a 24-year-old – Alan Shearer (34)

And by 1994/95, he was a Premier League winner too.

Most PL goals as a 25-year-old – Mohamed Salah (32)

It seems very unlikely that Salah will ever be able to emulate that record-breaking first year he enjoyed at Liverpool. Very few players will ever match it.

Most PL goals as a 26-year-old – Kevin Phillips (30)

It seemed like his career went on FOREVER, so it's no surprise to see him on the list.

Most PL goals as a 27-year-old – Thierry Henry (26)

Henry was entering his final couple of years of his main spell at Arsenal before joining Barcelona but was still as deadly as ever in front of goal.

Most PL goals as a 28-year-old – Les Ferdinand (30)

Nicknamed 'Sir Les' by many football fans, Ferdinand remains among the greatest ever Premier League strikers. He's ranked 10th in the division's all-time leading goalscorers.

Most PL goals as a 29-year-old – Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (28)

In truth, he was still a sight to behold even at Middlesbrough, but Stamford Bridge witnessed his best years.

Most PL goals as a 30-year-old – Ian Wright (27)

The one, the only. Ian Wright was Arsenal's all-time top goalscorer for eight years until that record was taken by Henry.

Most PL goals as a 31-year-old – Alan Shearer (23)

Him again. Shearer didn't win silverware with his boyhood club but it was the emotional pull that meant he spent the majority of a stellar career in the north-east.

Most PL goals as a 32-year-old – Didier Drogba (19)

Even once he'd passed the 30-mark, Drogba still had a few years of goals left in him - he also won two more Premier League titles.

Most PL goals as a 33-year-old – Alan Shearer (22)

The hairline was thinning, but the goals weren't going away. Shearer didn't retire until 2006 at the end of a 20-year career in the top flight.

Most PL goals as a 34-year-old – Teddy Sheringham and Glenn Murray (16)

Aged 35, the Brighton talisman was still being linked with a surprise England call-up.

Most PL goals as a 35-year-old – Zlatan Ibrahimovic (13)

Fate was not kind to Ibrahimovic. Had a double tear in his cruciate ligaments not brought his time at Manchester United to a premature end, he could have gone on to solve a lot more of their problems.

Most PL goals as a 36-year-old – Gianfranco Zola (14)

It's one of football's strange ironies that arguably Chelsea's greatest player of the Premier League era didn't coincide with their greatest era. Before Roman Abramovich's riches, the Blues could rely on the Italian superstar for goals.

Most PL goals as a 37-year-old – Teddy Sheringham (10)

Sheringham's hat-trick against Bolton made him the oldest Premier League player to score a hat-trick - and best of all, Portsmouth had got him for free.

Most PL goals as a 38-year-old – Graham Alexander (6)

They were nearly all penalties - but they all count.

Most PL goals as a 39-year-old – Teddy Sheringham (6)

His final years came in the lower leagues but West Ham were the last club to persevere with the former Manchester United and Tottenham striker even as he approached the big 40.

Most PL goals as a 40-year-old – Teddy Sheringham (2)

Imagine starting out as a professional footballer and your dad's still scoring Premier League goals. That was the position Charlie Sheringham found himself in.

The Premier League's current youngest player is Mason Greenwood (17 years, 10 months, 11 days) and the oldest Phil Jagielka (37 years, 1 month, 4 days) - so many of these records should stand for a long time. Some may never be beaten.
