Participating in the Bronze Final was probably not how New Zealand envisaged kicking off this weekend. Yet the All Blacks looked closer to being back to their best as they eased past Wales with a 40-17 victory. After the crushing disappointment of the semi-final defeat to England, Steve Hansen's men needed to emerge from this one with their pride in tact. And they did. Well, most of them, anyway. In the final seconds, Hallam Amos desperately tried to stop Anton Lienert-Brown making his way through. New Zealand beat Wales 40-17 with superb tries
Eddie Jones told England he'd make them champions
DON'T MISS: Canelo v Kovalev this Saturday on DAZN (US only)The centre left little to the imagination as his shorts were pulled completely down, leaving him rather...bare.Take a look:

Amos had himself played a notable role in the first half, leaving New Zealand exposed in a slightly more constructive way.

Just as it looked as if the All Blacks were going to go on one of their great sprees, his try got Wales back to 14-10.

That was to be the story of the day, however, as Warren Gatland's side just couldn't stem the tide in an open game that was always going to favour their opponents.

New Zealand went on to score six tries, Richie Mo'unga's late score putting a deserved shine on an impressive performance.

Wales' Josh Adams then nearly made a bit of personal history as he scored his seventh try of the tournament - one short of the record - with 21 minutes to go.

It was not the medal either side wanted - and probably not how Lienert-Brown imagined ending his World Cup either.
