It was another dismal day for Manchester United as they lost 1-0 to Bournemouth.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side had picked up some form in recent weeks, having won their last three away games.

During that stretch they also managed to defeat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

However, they were out of sorts on Saturday afternoon.

Josh King opened the scoring just before half-time with a lovely goal.

The former United striker controlled the ball in the box, flicked it over Aaron Wan-Bissaka's head and then volleyed his effort past David de Gea.

Needing someone to get them back in the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sent on Jesse Lingard in the 68th minute.

The Englishman was later given a note by Solskjaer, which the cameras picked up on in the 80th minute.

So what did the note say?

Football fans have jokingly been speculating what Solskjaer's message read.

Our favourite came from @ManUtdMindset, who referenced the infamous 'beans' video from pre-season.

Others, including @kevred0161, were a bit harsher.

@Born_a_gooner wasn't too kind...

And nor was @charliexlfc...

@JamesProbets joked there was only one simple message from Solskjaer.

Unfortunately, whatever the note said, it did not have the desired effect.

United didn't really look like scoring and Bournemouth easily held on for the three points.

The result is a step back given their encouraging performances in recent times.

United have now lost more games than they've won in the Premier League this season.

They are currently in eighth but they could drop into the bottom half of the table once more when the weekend's up.
