For a few minutes on Saturday afternoon, Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League was just three points.Manchester City had come from 1-0 down at home to Southampton to secure a late 2-1 win.But despite trailing Aston Villa in the 86th-minute, Liverpool somehow managed to leave Villa Park with all three points.Andy Robertson scored an 87th-minute equaliser before Sadio Mane’s winner deep, deep into injury-time.It felt like a massive win.

But Liverpool’s late show shouldn't have been too surprising.

It was the 35th time Liverpool have scored a 90th-winner in the Premier League era - 10 more than any other side.

Five of those late winners have come since the start of last season.

It’s no wonder Jurgen Klopp called this squad ‘mentality monsters.’

The players know it too.

Liverpool’s popular feature ‘Inside Anfield’ went on the road for the first time at the weekend and they captured the reaction in the tunnel after their dramatic win.

And when Virgil van Dijk saw the camera, he said: “That’s what we do!”

He’s not wrong, is he?

So, Liverpool will go into next weekend’s crunch match against City six points clear of their title rivals.

A win and the Reds will take a massive step towards their first ever Premier League title.

One thing is for sure, expect late drama.
