Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest managers in football history.Across spells with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City, the Spaniard has won every trophy under the sun and is widely considered a genius for his tactics and philosophy.Even the Premier League, which many thought would be Guardiola's downfall, has become a playground for the legendary boss and he currently holds the title two times over.Sure, there has been no shortage of spending at the Etihad Stadium, but you only need to watch the 2017-18 'All or Nothing' documentary to witness Guardiola's importance. The revolutionary Amazon production gave fans a bigger insight into a top Premier League side than ever before, showcasing the machinations of a side that amassed 100 points.

Man City 2-1 Southampton

As a result, many of Guardiola's inspirational team talks - as well as some angrier ones, such as the debrief at Wigan Athletic - were placed into the public eye for the first time.

It almost makes it disappointing that we don't have that kind of access anymore and that Guardiola's words of wisdom post-2018 have probably never left the dressing room.

However, there's now an exception to the rule and it came during last weekend's win over Southampton, which could have been a disaster after the Saints took a shock lead.

Guardiola's half-time speech

James Ward-Prowse's opener proved the difference between the sides until the 70th minute with goals from Sergio Aguero and Kyle Walker turning things around for the Citizens.

Dropping points against a side that were stuffed 9-0 by Leicester City would have been a huge blow, especially considering Liverpool were losing at Aston Villa, and Guardiola knew it more than most.

And as part of a '#MondayMotivation' tweet yesterday, City released footage of the tunnel team-talk that Guardiola issued to his squad before the comeback.

The tweet has gathered great attention and it's brilliant to see Guardiola's animated speeches making a return to social media, so check out the full video down below.

It's like watching a master at work.

Guardiola used a series of trigger phrases to encourage his midfielders to constantly join the attack and not to cross for the sake of crossing.

That, and he reassured his more defensive players that the likes of Aguero and Raheem Sterling will win the game for them, they just needed to do their job for the next 45 minutes.

It might not be worthy for a life inspiration video that will hit 10 million views on YouTube, but we're pretty sure most Premier League managers aren't that thorough at a crucial time in the tunnel.

It reiterates that while the slightest of tactics are important to Guardiola, the Spaniard is also brilliant for simply being a good motivator and the evidence keeps piling up each season.

And considering the response from his City side after the break, it seems as though he used just the right words and phrases to inspire three points that could be invaluable come May.
