Jorge Masvidal may be the BMF Champion after beating Nate Diaz last weekend, but now he has his eyes on another achievement, taking out Canelo Alvarez in a boxing match.

Masvidal defeated Diaz in the main event of UFC 244 on Saturday for the 'Baddest Mother F****r' Championship via doctor stoppage.

UFC fans and both fighters did not like how the fight finished, and both fighters have expressed a desire for a rematch. Now, they just have to change Dana White's mind.

However, if Masvidal can't get the rematch with Diaz, another fight he has on his mind is against Canelo Alvarez in the boxing ring.

He said at his post-fight conference, via MMA Fighting: “I’m open to the money and [Diaz is] a money fight. If Canelo wants to get his ass kicked, that’s a fight I’ll take.

“I’m just here to get the biggest checks possible but Nate is in the future for a fact. We’re doing it next year or the year after that but it’s going to happen.”

Masvidal added that he's more than ready to go 12 rounds with one of the best boxers in the world, while also adding that he would like to 'break his face'.

He said: “I can box. I can hit hard. I’ve got different angles. I’m not going to get tired in a 12 round boxing event, especially if I have time to prepare for it.

“It’s just kind of fate. He’s fighting today, I’m fighting today. I heard we f*cking killed him on the pay-per-views.

“I don’t know I’d like to break his face. Just fight, just test myself, make a lot of money for testing myself. But I truly feel I could make it 1-1 MMA versus boxing.”

Canelo was also fighting last Saturday. In fact, his fight was delayed until Masvidal's fight came to its conclusion.

The Mexican defeated Sergey Kovalev by 11th-round knockout on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Gamebred doubled down on his desire to fight Canelo on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show.

He said: "I’m dead serious about trying to fight Canelo Alvarez. Give me a nice little change, I’ll take my talents over there. I’m going for the off button, I feel like I can shock the world.

"Is Canelo a better boxer than me? Has he thrown 10,000 jabs more than me because that’s what he does morning and night? Yeah, he’s a better boxer.

"But can I bring some elements that boxers ain’t used to that are in the legal realm of boxing and throw Canelo completely off his game? F*** yes, man.

"I’m a naturally bigger dude. I punch like a f*****g truck. If I got boxing gloves on, I’m not afraid of breaking my hand because I got that cast on so I’ll be swinging extra harder. I feel like I could be a legitimate threat in there."
