It’s been a tough couple of weeks for Unai Emery and Arsenal. It began with a disappointing loss away to Sheffield United, losing 1-0 at Bramall Lane after a terrible performance. They then scraped past Vitoria 3-2 in the Europa League, relying on two fantastic free-kicks from Nicolas Pepe. But that’s as good as things have got for the Gunners recently. They followed that win up with a 2-2 draw at home to Crystal Palace after taking a 2-0 lead, they then played an under-strength Liverpool in the Carabao Cup only to throw away 3-1, 4-2 and 5-4 leads to lose on penalties.

If that wasn’t enough, they then surrendered a 1-0 lead at home to Wolves last weekend and eventually drew 1-1.

There are now plenty of questions surrounding Emery’s future.

Since the disappointing Wolves results, Gooners have been looking for answers.

That includes watching back recent matches.

Twitter user #MustafiOut watched back Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Palace and found something rather alarming seconds before the away side were awarded a penalty, giving them a way back into the game.

Midfielder Luka Milivojevic picked up the ball from goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey and was allowed to walk through the middle of strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. In fact, Lacazette wasn’t even looking at the ball.

Milivojevic then played a long ball over the top to Wilfried Zaha, who won his side a penalty thanks to VAR overruling referee Martin Atkinson.

#MustafiOut wrote: “Just a small thing I noticed watching the Palace highlights...look how easy Laca and Aubameyang make it for Milojevic to get the ball and start the attack which leads to the penalty. No idea how to defend.”

And despite the match being nine days ago, Arsenal fans are outraged at the lack of effort - particularly from Lacazette.

Is it a sign of players losing faith in Emery’s tactics?
