Robert Lewandowski continued his superb start to the season as he helped Bayern Munich to a 2-0 victory over Olympiacos on Wednesday evening.

The German club failed to break their opponents down for the opening hour but their talisman came to their rescue with 20 minutes remaining.

Kingsley Coman whipped a ball in from the right and the Polish striker prodded the ball home to break the deadlock.

That continued a quite incredible run of form for Lewandowski.

Bayern have been struggling in the Bundesliga this campaign.

Niko Kovac recently lost his job with the side in fourth, having won just five of their opening 10 games and four points behind the leaders.

But Lewandowski is one of few players that can hold themselves up high.

He's scored in all 10 league games this season, notching 14 times in total.

And he's also managed to find the back of the net in all four of Bayern's Champions League games this season, notching six times in total.

We're now in November, three months into the season, and Lewandowski has scored in every Champions League and Bundesliga game he's played this season.

What a player. Lewandowski is undoubtedly the best striker in the world right now.

His form is made even more remarkable by the fact that he is currently battling a groin injury.

Bayern boss Hansi Flick even admitted earlier this week that Lewandowski will need surgery to correct the issue.

"He has problems, but no pain and it's clear that something has to be done," he said, per the Daily Mail.

"He will think about when he wants to have it. It would not be good to interrupt the run he is having but it will be his decision and we have to respect that."

As long as he keeps scoring, Lewandowski will want to put off undergoing surgery for as long as possible.
