#Mbappe2020 was trending last month after Liverpool won their court case against New Balance.

The legal victory meant the Reds are now free to work with Nike from next season.

It also allowed the minds of Liverpool fans to wonder.

With stars such as LeBron James and Drake set to help promote Liverpool’s new Nike gear, they think the club will now make a marquee signing to welcome their new partnership.

And they’re convinced that will be Nike athlete and 20-year-old superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Hence the #Mbappe2020 hashtag and even the creation of a website.

And Spanish outlet El Desmarque has even joined in.

Today, they’re claiming that Liverpool are set to rival Real Madrid for Mbappe’s signature and are willing to offer Paris Saint-Germain £215 million.

To convince him to join, the club will offer him wages of more than £34 million-per-year!

But the outrageous report doesn’t stop there.

They go on to claim that Mohamed Salah will make way for Mbappe, with Liverpool happy to allow him to join Real Madrid.

Florentino Perez is apparently ‘attentive’ of Salah’s situation.

Mbappe in, Salah out?

ANALYSIS

GIVEMESPORT'S Rob Hoskin says:

It seems we already have a winner for craziest transfer rumour of the season.

At first glance, Mbappe to Liverpool may not seem too outlandish. After all, the club are European champions.

When you consider the fact that the Frenchman has been pictured with Liverpool minority shareholder LeBron James, former Monaco teammate Fabinho has made tongue-in-cheek comments about him joining and that Mbappe admitted that he plays as the Reds on FIFA, you can see why some fans are getting a little bit excited.

But much of Liverpool’s recent success has been built on how the club has been run.

There’s simply no way the club would tear up their current structure just in order to land Mbappe.

Salah is currently the club’s highest-paid player and he pockets £10.4 million-per-year.

Paying a player three times that amount - not to mention the astronomical transfer fee - simply isn’t feasible.

And we haven’t even mentioned how Mbappe might not even be interested in a move to Merseyside when he’s always dreamed of playing for Real Madrid.

Sorry Liverpool fans, but #Mbappe2020 isn’t happening.
