MLS chief claims Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to sign for AC Milan

Real Salt Lake v Los Angeles Galaxy

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has conquered the MLS.

The striker has scored 52 goals in 56 games during his relatively short stint in America.

It's now expected that Ibra will move on, with a host of clubs linked.

Recent reports have suggested that both Bologna and his old side Manchester United are interested.

However, MLS commissioner Don Graber appears to have revealed that AC Milan are now poised to re-sign the former Sweden international.

Seven years on from his departure, he could be donning Rossoneri colours again very soon.

“Zlatan is an interesting character," Graber told ESPN FC.

"He keeps me very busy & you need this kind of players like what happened with Beckham few years ago.

"He is 38 years old and is now being recruited by Milan, one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“He has almost broken all goalscoring records in just two years. I hope he stays but it depends on LA Galaxy. I was happy to have him here and I like the moments with him, especially when he speaks in third person.”

Milan are keen to add more experience to their squad and the consensus is that Ibrahimovic could still do a job in a top European league.

Stefano Pioli is already under pressure having overseen a haul of just 13 points from 11 games. In the 2019/20 campaign, they have also scored the fifth fewest goals of any side in the Italian top flight.

Who better to turn to than their former icon, who has played some of his best football at the San Siro, a place of refuge after his infamous falling out with Pep Guardiola at Barcelona.

He averaged more than a goal every two games before joining PSG in 2012.

And what better incentive than to test himself against the likes of Ciro Immobile, Romelu Lukaku, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
