Marca: Rodrygo will dine at Ronaldo and Messi's table, Ansu Fati won't even get dessert

Marca are big fans of Real Madrid's teenage sensation, Rodrygo Goes

Rodrygo Goes made a huge statement on Wednesday night.

The 18-year-old Brazilian scored a perfect hat-trick against Galatasaray in the Champions League in a 6-0 victory for Real Madrid.

Rodrygo also provided an assist for Karim Benzema to complete his stunning performance.

Understandably, the hype around the Brazilian has grown exponentially over the past couple of evenings and it begs the question; how far can he go in the world of football?

Well, Madrid-based paper Marca believe the teenage starlet can dine at the same table as both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

But in making that compliment, journalist Juanma Rodríguez opted to also take a swipe at Barcelona's very own teenage star, Ansu Fati.

Rodriguez wrote: "The comparisons for Rodrygo cannot, therefore, be with Fati, who is very, very, very far behind, but with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, whose table he'll dine at very soon."

It's a bold statement, especially after one top-class performance against the a side currently languishing in seventh place in the Turkish Super Lig.

So let's compare Rodrygo and Fati's stats from their breakthrough seasons so far.

Fati in action for Barcelona

Fati has made nine appearances for the Blaugrana in total, scoring two goals in La Liga and also notching an assist in domestic action.

In the Champions League, he has failed to find the back of the net in his two appearances, while Rodrygo has three goals in his two games.

The Brazilian has also found the back of the net twice in La Liga in just four games, an impressive return in a misfiring Madrid team.

So yes, there is a bit of a gulf in terms of output, but that's mainly down to Rodrygo's stunning performance against Galatasaray.

Rodrygo celebrates

The 18-year-old may one day reign supreme in the footballing world, but to use his hat-trick heroics to take shots at Fati seems a bit silly.

Barca's 17-year-old prodigy also has the world at his feet and with the right guidance, the young Spaniard could be ordering far more than dessert at Ronaldo and Messi's table.
