Unai Emery's job could well be on the line if Arsenal lose to Leicester in the late kick-off on Saturday.

The Gunners have failed to win any of their last four games in all competitions, most recently conceding an equaliser to Vitoria in injury time.

On top of that, there have been serious doubts over Emery's control of the dressing room, not least because of former captain Granit Xhaka's outburst.

Many Arsenal fans have accepted - and indeed some are actively hoping - that it is just a matter of time before Emery is sacked.

Most have a preference regarding who replaces the beleaguered Spaniard, with Jose Mourinho proving a controversial yet popular choice among the Emirates faithful.

However, one supporter on a talkSPORT phone-in - admittedly not a vestige of sensible football debate - wants a different approach.

'Chris the Gooner' suggested the club have no chance of appointing Mourinho or ex-Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri because of the way their fans treat managers.

“I would just like to agree with everything Jamie [O'Hara] has been saying, about the club being a poisoned chalice. Who would really want this job?" the fan explained.

“I’ve had to stop going to the Arsenal because of the supporters – they are morons, to be fair.

“Who is going to want to take that job and work for those fans, who boo players?"

Jamie O'Hara also touted Steven Gerrard, currently with Rangers, as a possible successor, but the fan hit back:

“Gerrard? Why would he want that? He’s got Liverpool waiting after [Jurgen] Klopp. Why would he want to come to Arsenal?”

“I reckon Allardyce or Moyes, give them a chance. What have we got to lose?”

It's probably a good time to mention that neither Moyes nor Allardyce has ever won a major honour, unless you count the former's Community Shield in 2013.

These days, the pair are more used to coaching relegation-fodder or at best, a mid-table side. Come to think of it, maybe they would be a good fit after all.

In all seriousness, Allardyce does know how to instil discipline. Moyes, meanwhile, did have a very good reputation for 11 years at Everton before it was tarnished by his move to Manchester United.

Arsenal could be as much as nine points off the Champions League spots if they lose at the King Power stadium.

Where Arsene Wenger lasted 22 years, it looks more and more like Emery will not even last 18 months.
