After more European action in the Champions League and Europa League, attention turns back to domestic football and the Premier League.

Before going into yet another international break, all 20 clubs will be hoping to secure a positive result as we surge towards the busy festive period.

Here is our preview for this weekend’s games.

Friday

Norwich City v Watford

Watford travel to Carrow Road on Friday night in a clash between the Premier League’s bottom two sides.

The Hornets have failed to win in all of their opening 11 games and sit rooted to the bottom of the table with just five points so far, having scored just six goals – the division’s lowest amount.

The Canaries haven’t faired much better. After a promising start to the season, Daniel Farke’s men sit in 19th position just two points ahead of Friday’s opponents after losing five of their last six games since their shock victory over Manchester City in September.

Saturday

Chelsea v Crystal Palace

Chelsea play host to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon having recorded five successive victories in the Premier League, a run which has taken the club into fourth position in the standings with a six-point cushion over fifth placed Arsenal.

Meanwhile, as a result of last weekend’s defeat to Leicester City, Palace make the trip to Stamford Bridge sitting in ninth and have a lengthy injury list to boot, with key players James McCarthur, Andros Townsend and Mamadou Sakho all ruled out.

Burnley v West Ham

The Clarets host West Ham at Turf Moor having lost their last three league games, conceding nine goals in the process which will concern defensive-minded coach Sean Dyche.

The Hammers have picked up just two points in their last five games as pressure mounts on Manuel Pellegrini after a disappointing loss to Newcastle last weekend.

(GMS odds - Burnley to win to nil @ 16/5)

Newcastle v Bournemouth

Two sides, who both enjoyed surprise victories last weekend, clash at St James’ Park. Newcastle are still looking for a point to haul them away from the danger zone whereas Bournemouth are looking to win back-to-back Premier League games for only the second time this season.

(GMB odds - Newcastle draw no bet @ 10/11)

Southampton v Everton

The Saints bounced back from their 0-9 annihilation by Leicester and put in a good showing against Premier League title favourites Man City last weekend. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men lost 2-1 after leading for the majority of the game, but the big Austrian will be encouraged by the resilience his players showed.

Everton remain just above the relegation zone following their 1-1 draw last time out at Goodison Park against fellow strugglers Tottenham.

(GMB odds - Everton to win and btts @ 33/10)

Tottenham v Sheffield United

Spurs host the high-flying Blades who eased past Burnley last weekend 3-0 and currently sit within European qualification in sixth place.

Tottenham have struggled to find any consistency so far this season, but Mauricio Pochettino will be encouraged by his side’s mid-week performance in Europe, where they dispatched Red Star Belgrade 4-0 away in the Serbian capital.

(GMB odds - Spurs to win to nil @ 33/20)

Leicester City v Arsenal

The Foxes welcome the Gunners to the King Power Stadium in the Saturday evening kick-off, with both clubs desperate for three points.

Leicester go into the match in fine form and currently sit third place in the league table behind only Man City and Liverpool.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are in a very poor run of form, having gone four matches in all competitions without a win, with one victory in their last six outings.

(GMB odds - over 3.5 goals @ 29/20)

Manchester United v Brighton

The Red Devils will be desperate for three points as they welcome Brighton to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

United have won just once in their last four and sit in 10th position on 13 points from 11 matches. It’s their lowest points tally at this stage of a league campaign since 1986-87.

Brighton have recorded back-to-back wins against Everton and Norwich with Graham Potter’s men sitting eighth in the league with 15 points from 11 matches.

(GMB odds - Man United to win 2-0 @ 29/4)

Wolves v Aston Villa

Wolves host Aston Villa at Molineux on Sunday after securing three league draws in a row since their shock victory over Man City at the Etihad in October.

Villa are coming off back-to-back losses, but Dean Smith will be encouraged by the performance against Liverpool last weekend, when his side conceded two late goals after leading for 87 minutes.

(GMB odds - over 0.5 penalties awarded in match @ 5/2)

Liverpool v Manchester City

Premier League leaders Liverpool take on champions Manchester City in a top-of-the-table clash at Anfield this Sunday.

Liverpool have established a six-point lead at the league summit after only 11 matches and have not lost at Anfield since April 23, 2017.

City, on the other hand, have been in this position before and will not be panicking yet. A win at Anfield would pile the pressure on Jurgen Klopp’s men and would send a big message around the league.

(GMB odds - draw 0-0 @ 11/1)
