Arguably the two best managers in world football will do battle on Sunday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have been embroiled in a two-year wrestling match as Liverpool and Manchester City continue to pull away as the Premier League's dominant forces.

The Citizens had the upper-hand at the end of last season with their second consecutive title, but now find themselves trailing the Reds by six points after just 11 fixtures.

As a result, Sunday's match at Anfield couldn't be more important and has the footballing world discussing two of its finest tactical minds.

Here at GIVEMESPORT, we have already made our selections for a combined Liverpool and City XI, but now we want to raise the stakes with less than 48 hours to go.

Combined Guardiola-Klopp XI

You could probably conjure up all-time XIs for both Klopp and Guardiola in your head; combining the two together is a whole different proposition, though.

That's the task we've undertaken and featuring players from Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and more, it makes for the team of dreams - take a look at it down below.

GK - Manuel Neuer

During Guardiola's reign at the Allianz Arena, Neuer was at the top of his game and made the top two of the 2014 Ballon d'Or. Even Alisson Becker can't compete with the German's dizzying peak.

RB - Dani Alves

An absolute no-brainer. It would be foolish not to pick the most decorated footballer in history, who constantly bombed forward under Guardiola's stewardship to nurture the tiki-taka approach from out wide.

CB - Virgil van Dijk

Fans of Mats Hummels and Carles Puyol might be throwing their toys out their pram here, but neither of them ever produced an individual season on par with Van Dijk's omnipotent 2018/19.

CB - Gerard Pique

Getting the nod over his aforementioned compatriot, Pique started to reach his zenith under Guardiola and has consistently been one of the world's best defenders ever since.

LB - David Alaba

There's a surprising dearth for both managers on the left defensive flank and we fully expect Andrew Robertson to reach the heights that Alaba did during the early 2010s in the years to come.

CDM - Sergio Busquets

Sure, we could have gone for a more glamorous and attacking midfield formation, but it would be at the expense of one of the most underrated players in history and an invaluable asset for Guardiola.

CM - Andres Iniesta

Iniesta played football to such an alien standard that great players like Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mario Gotze and even David Silva never entered the conversation for this position.

CM - Xavi

Similarly, we're not sure we could sleep at night if we didn't pick Xavi. You could plot any coordinate on the face of the Earth and Xavi would have found it with a pass during Guardiola's Barca tenure.

CAM - Kevin De Bruyne

Muscling his way into a midfield of interstellar quality, De Bruyne has rightfully earned his place as the creative genius behind arguably the greatest Premier League team ever constructed.

ST - Lionel Messi

Come along, do we even need to justify this selection?

ST - Robert Lewandowski

A striker that played for both Klopp and Guardiola, Lewandowski narrowly takes his place over Sergio Aguero after scoring an eye-watering 170 goals under the coaching duo.

So, there you have it, you end up with a pretty astonishing starting XI when you sift through Klopp and Guardiola's rosters over the years.

It goes without saying that the latter has emerged with the most players here, but that's largely a consequence of managing one of the greatest teams in history between 2008 and 2012.

However, if Klopp can maintain Liverpool's course to Premier League glory this season, then perhaps we'll start to see some of his Reds entering the conversation for selection.
