Following their 0-0 draw with Slavia Prague in midweek, fans inside the Camp Nou were calling for Ernesto Valverde's head.

Barcelona's performances this season has left a lot to be desired.

They’ve already lost three times in the league and their displays in the Champions League have been dire by their standards.

But a win against Celta Vigo tonight and Blaugrana could return to the top of the league.

However, failure to do so will see the end of Valverde.

That’s according to a report in Spain.

ABC claim that Valverde has ‘no more lives left’ and anything but a win at the Camp Nou will see him sacked in the coming days.

The report states that someone already at the club would temporarily take control while they seek a new permanent manager.

President Josep María Bartomeu believes finding and hiring a new manager would take him about a month.

Two names have already been discussed - Ronald Koeman (who is currently in charge of the Netherlands national side) and Marcelo Gallardo (the River Plate manager).

Koeman has a clause in his Netherlands contract that says he will be allowed to leave if Barca come calling - his former club and his ‘big dream.’

While Gallardo led River Plate to Copa Libertadores glory last season and would represent something of a risk.

ANALYSIS

GIVEMESPORT'S Rob Hoskin says:

Last season, Valverde led Barca to La Liga glory as they finished 11 points of second-placed Atletico Madrid. But supporters will never forgive him for the way their side collapsed against Liverpool in the Champions League, losing their 3-0 lead from the semi-final first-leg.

While we don't know what goes on in the dressing room, he's a manager that appears to lack charisma. You can't imagine him inspiring the players with a motivational team talk before a big match.

It seems it's just a matter of time before Valverde is sacked. A win against Celta will just be delaying the inevitable.
