Shakhtar's Taison was sent off for standing up to racist abuse from Dynamo Kiev fans

Taison was in tears on the pitch

Shakhtar Donetsk forward Taison was on the receiving end of disgusting racist abuse from Dynamo Kiev today.

The Brazilian forward was targeted with racist chants and he was forced to react in the latter stages of the game.

Taison put his middle finger up at the cowardly Dynamo fans, before booting the ball in their direction.

The referee then sent the Brazilian off, with Taison and fellow countryman Dentinho left in tears on the pitch.

You can watch the disturbing incident below.

Disgusting behaviour from the Dynamo fans and the referee's decision to send Taison off was just plain wrong.

When players are racially abused in such a horrific manner, reactions like Taison's simply have to be expected and to punish them is simply a joke.

Dynamo fans also produced stickers for the big Ukrainian clash bearing the words 'like for racism' in response to the club's campaign to halt racist abuse from the stands.

The punishments for Dynamo Kiev need to be quick and severe.

It's yet another sad addition to the ever-growing catalogue of racist abuse across European football in 2019.

We are now at the point where players simply have to walk off the pitch if abuse is directed at anyone on the pitch.

UEFA are not doing enough to crack down on the issue and it has sadly got to the point where the onus is on the playing staff to do something about it on the pitch.
