Anfield really is the stadium of nightmares for Manchester City fans. The Citizens have not won on Liverpool's home turf since 2003 and yesterday, they saw their hopes of a third successive Premier League title take a serious hit.Jurgen Klopp's side romped to a 3-1 victory, leaving Pep Guardiola's injury-stricken outfit nine points behind the Reds going into the third international break of the season. It's going to be one of the toughest domestic sabbaticals of Guardiola's career, but if anyone can turn it around, it's him.The Spaniard is arguably the game's greatest tactician and he has overcome adversity many times in his career.

Surely no City fan would turn their back on him yet, right? Well, one City fan seems to have taken the loss at Anfield rather poorly.

Phoning in to talkSPORT after the game, the unnamed fan declared that he would take former arch nemesis Jose Mourinho over Guardiola following the loss to Liverpool.

The fan said: “I’m done with Pep now! Let Arteta take the job or bring José Mourinho in, I’d take Mourinho.

“Get Pep out and let’s move on.”

Crazy stuff. Given how most normal City fans are ever so proud of the beautiful football they play, hiring Mourinho would be a bit of a disaster.

Plus, the self-proclaimed Special One didn't exactly have the best relationship with star man Kevin De Bruyne while the pair worked together at Chelsea.

He pretty much refused to give the playmaker a chance in the first-team, slammed his attitude in training and then shipped him off to German side Werder Bremen.

However, Mourinho did mastermind one of the greatest ever away performances at Anfield back in 2013/14.

With a depleted Chelsea squad - festering debutant Tomas Kalas - Mourinho miraculously beat Brendan Rodgers' side 2-0 to bring a halt to their title challenge.

Maybe Guardiola should deploy the Mourinho tactics next time he visits the red half of Merseyside...
