With the plethora of attacking talent on the pitch at Anfield yesterday, we really didn’t expect Fabinho to open the scoring during Liverpool vs Manchester City. The Brazilian has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in world football but he’s not really known for his goalscoring record. His 20-yard strike against City was only his second goal since arriving at the club in the summer of 2018.But what a strike. And many Liverpool fans may have spotted Fabinho’s celebration as he wheeled away pointing to his wrist.

After the match, Jurgen Klopp appeared to explain the celebration.

“They told me he [Fabinho] pointed at his watch to celebrate. It was time for him to score and he did, it was a really good goal,” Klopp said.

But Fabinho wasn’t the only player running away pointing to his wrist.

That’s because Sadio Mane was also doing the same thing.

That’s right, Mane copied a teammate’s celebration once again.

The Liverpool star has a reputation for mimicking his teammates having copied Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho in the past. A few examples of which can be seen in the video below:

And he did it once again on Sunday.

Never change, Sadio.

Mane later got himself on the scoresheet as he headed in at the back post to make it 3-0 to Liverpool.

The Senegalese was being talked about as being a ‘diver’ by Pep Guardiola during the pre-match mind games but he and Liverpool did most of their talking on the pitch as they went eight points clear.
