Who remembers Liverpool 1-2 Crystal Palace?

If you're struggling, we can't say we blame you because it's nearly been three years since two strikes from Christian Benteke secured a win for the Eagles on Merseyside.

Philippe Coutinho had fired Liverpool into a first-half lead, hoping to bolster their chances of Champions League qualification, yet everything unravelled at the hands of their former striker.

But what's the significance? Well, that's the last time that Liverpool have lost a Premier League game at Anfield, going the next two seasons without a single home defeat.

Pretty astonishing stuff. In fact, it's the second longest unbeaten run of its kind in the competition and only Chelsea's unblemished streak between 2004 and 2008 can beat it.

Making Anfield a fortress

Victory over Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, virtue of goals from Fabinho, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, moved them to 48 games without faltering.

However, just because Liverpool are ahead of the current pack at the moment, it doesn't necessarily mean that there aren't some other impressive home records further down the table.

That's certainly something that talkSPORT have considered, because they decided to look at every Premier League club's home results since Liverpool vs Palace in April 2017.

Every club's home record

In other words, how many defeats have other clubs suffered in the time Liverpool have been invincible at their own stadium?

It makes for some interesting answers and especially when you consider that, technically speaking, Liverpool don't even have the best home record regardless of not losing. Seriously.

Note: Only teams that have been in the Premier League for the entire timespan in question have been included. Sorry Huddersfield and Cardiff fans.

Check out the full breakdown below:

Manchester City might have suffered more home defeats since April 2017, but by way of only drawing four matches as opposed to ten, they've actually amassed more points than Liverpool.

It goes to show that being unbeaten doesn't necessarily mean you're the best at something in football; not that that should take away from Liverpool's achievement.

Arsenal - for all their plight in recent seasons - complete the podium, followed by their fellow top six clubs of Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, Southampton suffer the ignominy of coming rock bottom with just nine wins at St. Mary's as well as 18 draws and a pitiful 21 defeats.

But Anfield is the only stadium that can truly be called a 'fortress' and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to steer his team to Chelsea's record as well as the Premier League title.
