Substituting Cristiano Ronaldo in two consecutive games? Maurizio Sarri is a brave man.Paulo Dybala’s winner in Juventus’ 1-0 win against AC Milan on Sunday justified Sarri’s decision to replace Ronaldo with the Argentinian, although there could be repercussions in the coming weeks.Ronaldo stormed straight down the tunnel after he was replaced and reports in Italy claim he left the stadium three minutes before full-time.Sarri said after the match that he would be worried if Ronaldo wasn’t upset. But with Dybala coming on and scoring the winner, the 34-year-old’s impact is now being questioned.

Ronaldo doesn’t come off often - why would any manager substitute a prolific goalscorer like him? - but when he does, it’s not pretty.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player has never failed to hide his disgust at coming off and Planet Football have listed five times in which he threw a strop after being subbed off.

Ronaldo certainly has a temper on him.

Man United vs Man City | 2009

The winger was furious after Sir Alex Ferguson replaced him in the Manchester derby in 2009.

He snatched his tracksuit before throwing it to the ground and taking his seat on the bench, where he sat visibly upset.

Former United forward Dwight Yorke said: “When you look at what is happening at United - going for the title and in the Champions League final - everything is great.

“Then you get someone behaving like that. To throw away his tracksuit top and huff and puff is uncalled for and out of order, there is no need.”

Ronaldo featured in just three more games before joining Real Madrid that summer.

Real Madrid vs Las Palmas | 2016

Ronaldo was brought off for Lucas Vazquez with Real Madrid leading Las Palmas 2-1 in 2016.

He trudged off with his eyes down and refused to make eye contact with Zinedine Zidane.

According to Spanish TV station, Ronaldo said: “Why me? I do everything to make it 2-1…for f***’s sake!”

Worse was to come for Ronaldo and Los Blancos. Las Palmas equalised late on.

Real Madrid vs Levante | 2018

Real Madrid were leading Levante 2-1 when Zidane decided to bring on Marco Asensio in place of Ronaldo with eight minutes to go.

Once again, the Portuguese forward failed to acknowledge his manager but he did give the cameraman some words after noticing that he was being filmed on the bench.

“Focus on the game,” he reportedly said. “Don’t film me, show the match.”

Zidane was again made to regret his decision. Levante equalised in the 89th minute.

Juventus vs Lokomotiv Moscow | 2019

Sarri withdrew Ronaldo in the 81st minute of Juventus’ Champions League game against Lokomotiv Moscow last week.

The Old Lady were trailing at the time, which made the decision to take Ronaldo - the leading goalscorer in Champions League history - off all the more questionable.

But Douglas Costa scored a late winner to save Sarri from criticism.

Ronaldo, though, wasn’t impressed. He marched straight past his coach while muttering to himself.

Juventus vs AC Milan | 2019

Being replaced twice in the space of five days was never going to sit well with Ronaldo.

Sky Italy reported that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner left Juventus Stadium three minutes before full-time after he was replaced by Dybala in the second half on Sunday.

Juventus defeated AC Milan 1-0 - Dybala even got the winner - and Sarri has shown that he’s not afraid to upset his star player for the good of the team.
