It’s fair to say Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t appreciate being substituted during Juventus’ 1-0 win over AC Milan on Sunday. In the 55th-minute with the scores level at 0-0, Maurizio Sarri made the brave decision to replace Ronaldo with Paulo Dybala. It proved to be a good decision as Dybala went on to score the only goal of the game. It's still not 100% clear whether a minor injury played a role in the decision to sub Ronaldo. However, Ronaldo’s reaction to being substituted was rather shocking. He walked straight down the tunnel and muttered something to Sarri as he did.

What did he say?

Well, according to the Daily Mail, he called his manager a ‘son of a w**re.’

Wow.

But despite that, Gazzetta dello Sport suggest he will not be fined for his outburst.

However, he’s expected to apologise to his teammates for going straight down the tunnel and leaving the stadium before the end of the game.

"If it's true that he left before the end it is a problem to be resolved with his teammates," Sarri told reporters.

While he may not receive a fine from Juventus for his actions, he did risk a hefty ban after he left the stadium before the end of the match.

Former Italian player Antonio Cassano claims he was once threatened with a two-year ban for leaving the stadium early.

"Did he leave before the end of the game?" Cassano asked on the Italian television show Tiki-Taka, per AS. "You can't do that because there is an anti-doping control.

“I had to go back to the stadium urgently to avoid a two-year ban.”

We may not have heard the end of this incident.
