Manchester United had a lot of players with a nasty streak during the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

But since Fergie retired in 2013, the Red Devils have lacked players often described by football fans on social media as ‘sh*thouses’.

Ander Herrera and Marcos Rojo spring to mind. Other than that, though, it’s hard to think of another United player (over the past six years) with a mean streak on the pitch.

However, is Brandon Williams the ‘sh*thouse’ that United have been crying out for?

The 19-year-old, who made his first Premier League start against Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend, is a very promising left-back with, it seems, a ruthless streak.

Man Utd fans are currently sharing a tweet which suggests Williams might be on the verge of establishing his status as the club’s bad boy.

His cousin is super featherweight boxer Zelfa Barrett, whose record currently stands at 23-1, so perhaps that explains the aggressive streak.

He certainly isn’t afraid of pushing his weight around or going toe-to-toe with opponents, as we’ve already seen on several occasions during his brief professional career.

In a pre-season friendly against Accrington Stanley, Williams was sent off for headbutting captain Sean McConville when the 30-year-old aimed a punch his way.

And he showed his fighting spirit again on his full United debut against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League last month, squaring up to Dani de Wit.

The England Under-20 international also threw Callum Hudson-Odoi into the stands during United’s recent Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

And he squared up to Brighton forward Neal Maupay after shoving the 23-year-old into the advertising hoardings.

Clearly, then, Williams isn’t bothered about pushing around footballers a lot older and more experienced than himself - and this will certainly help to endear him to the Old Trafford faithful, who want fearless young players with a bit about them.

It seems Rojo is also a fan of the youngster…

Sh*thouse recognise sh*thouse.

Some United fans believe Williams has everything required to become the club’s first-choice left-back, and they’ll be hoping he continues to impress after the international break.
