WWE Survivor Series is just around the corner, which means brand warfare is more important than ever in the calendar year.In turn, that also means Raw, SmackDown and NXT are taking it in turns to one-up each other on their respective brands, with NXT firing the first shots by invading a depleted SmackDown two weeks ago.Shayna Baszler has been prominent on both main roster shows, with Bayley returning the favour last night on NXT with an attack of her own before the Triple Threat match at Survivor Series - which also includes Becky Lynch.Invasions aren't strictly limited to brands though - as you'll find out as GiveMeSport rank the top five invasion moments of all time in WWE.5. BECKY LYNCH'S WATERSHED MOMENT

13 nights before 2018 Survivor Series, Becky Lynch led SmackDown's women into battle against Raw, with the cameras panning to the Irishwoman having a DisArmHer locked on Ronda Rousey in the locker room.

Once all the women were scrapping in the middle of the ring, we all know what happened next.

One right hand from Nia Jax and Lynch's huge match with Rousey at Survivor Series was off - but the sight of her standing in the crowd with a bloody face saw the start of something special, and the birth of 'The Man'.

4. ECW INVADE WWE IN 1997

Extreme Championship Wrestling was first brought to the attention of Vince McMahon in 1995, when fans in Philadelphia chanted for the promotion during that year's King Of The Ring broadcast.

Fast forward over a year later, and ECW stalwarts Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, Tazz and a certain Paul E. Heyman were in the front row of a WWF pay-per-view in what was a sign of things to come.

It all led to a nice bit of cross-promotion in early 1997, with Raw hosting three ECW matches in the Manhattan Center, and it sparked a feud between WWF's Jerry Lawler and the whole ECW brand.

ECW rose in popularity following this as they started to produce their own PPVs - but we all know how it ended.

3. NEXUS DEBUT ON MONDAY NIGHT RAW

The first season of the NXT game show was in 2010, before it became a developmental brand, and it was won by British brawler Wade Barrett.

Just days after the season one wrapped up though, all eight contestants - led by Barrett - showed up on Monday Night Raw and made the most instant of impacts by taking out John Cena.

That wasn't all they did though - they attacked CM Punk and the Straight-Edge Society, ring announcer Justin Roberts was brutalized [which led to Daniel Bryan's initial firing from WWE] and the stable destroyed the whole ring and ringside area.

The eight-some left a lasting impression on WWE fans in their main roster debut appearance - but the mystique had faded by the time SummerSlam had ended two months later.

2. STONE COLD STUNNERS THE ENTIRE ALLIANCE

Stone Cold Steve Austin was stuck between a rock and a hard place just a few months after he turned heel at WrestleMania 17 and aligned himself with Vince McMahon.

His Two-Man Power Trip alliance with Triple H was cut short due to The Game suffering a torn quadriceps, and as WWF Champion he didn't have many challengers left to take on.

Then the Invasion storyline began, where WCW and ECW stars came together to form The Alliance, but Austin was reluctant to help Team WWF, as he didn't like Kurt Angle.

But Vince McMahon convinced Austin to bring his old self back, and on the July 16, 2001 episode of Raw, Stone Cold returned from a bar - pool cue in hand - and took out The Alliance.

He received one of the pops of the whole Attitude Era when the glass shattered, and amongst the unfortunate victims were Tazz, D-Von Dudley, Tommy Dreamer and many more.

Of course just weeks later Austin turned on Team WWF and joined up with The Alliance himself, before reverting to a hero at Survivor Series later in the year.

1. D-GENERATION X ATTEMPT TO INVADE WCW

One of the most iconic scenes of the Attitude Era came just weeks after DX was expanded following the departure of Shawn Michaels.

Triple H added the New Age Outlaws and X-Pac to his army, and in April 1998 they attempted to 'go to war' with WCW.

And the most iconic scene came in Virginia, where both Raw and Nitro were just 19 miles apart on the same evening - as DX travelled on a tank to The Scope, where Nitro was taking place.

Triple H mocked WCW through a megaphone and tried to gain access to the arena in the tank, but ultimately didn't get in, but it made for an amazing spectacle.

Notable mentions must go to the epic confrontation between SmackDown and Raw in 2005 in the UK, where a brawl in the parking lot saw Batista Chokeslammed onto a car windshield, and the most recent NXT takeover of SmackDown was sure memorable to many.
