England have qualified for Euro 2020 with a convincing 7-0 win over Montenegro at Wembley.

The match was England’s 1000th international and there were plenty of legends in attendance.

The likes of Peter Shilton, Sir Geoff Hurst and Wayne Rooney witnessed Gareth Southgate field an XI with the average age of 23 years 255 days - the youngest starting line-up since 1959.

And it didn’t take long for England’s youngsters to take the lead. Eleven minutes to be exact.

Ben Chilwell found Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the back post and he drilled in a terrific strike into the far corner on his first England start for 18 months.

Chilwell produced another assist seven minutes later as his whipped free-kick was headed in by Harry Kane.

And Chilwell made it a hat-trick of assists within 24 minutes as his out-swinging corner was met by the head of Kane once again for the striker’s 30th goal for his country.

Within half an hour, it was four as Marcus Rashford scored after Harry Maguire’s close-range header was saved.

Kane then completed his hat-trick after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross reached him inside the box and he made no mistake.

As expected, England took their foot off the gas after half-time and had to wait until the 67th-minute to grab their sixth. And when it did come, it came via Montenegro's Aleksandar Sofranac, who deflected Mason Mount's effort into his own net.

The main talking point of the match came in the 70th-minute when Joe Gomez came on to a few boos from the England fans for his role in Raheem Sterling being dropped from the squad.

And Tammy Abraham rounded the night off with his first goal for the senior side to make it 7-0 and seal qualification in style.

THE SUMMER OF 2020

Who can forget the summer of 2018?

Southgate's Lions united an entire nation as they reached the semi-finals in Russia.

Back in England, we had a month-long heatwave as fans crammed into pubs and bars and threw pints everywhere with every goal.

Great times.

But it could happen all happen next summer - especially with Wembley hosting at least two of England’s group stages as well as semi-finals and final.

Bring. It. On.
