The whole footballing world is behind Santi Cazorla. I mean, come on, what a guy.Aside form always being a loveable character, everybody associated with the sport came together in praying for the Spaniard when he suffered a horror injury at Arsenal that threatened his career.Just three years ago, Cazorla went through 11 operations in as many months, needed a skin graft that moved a tattoo to his heel and was lucky to avoid a foot amputation.Doctors even told Cazorla that he should be thankful to even walk again but, low and behold, he was back playing football just two years later. And perhaps even more astonishingly, he looked the same mercurial midfielder that saw him become one of the best players the Premier League and La Liga have seen in recent years.

Cazorla's completed fairytale

The 34-year-old scored seven goals during his comeback season and has gone from strength to strength this campaign, even scoring a worldie against Barcelona.

His performances were so impressive that he astonishingly earned a recall to the Spanish national team and tonight, he picked up his second post-injury cap at home to Malta.

We're pretty sure it's a match that has completed the fairytale, too, because he scored La Roja's second goal of the game.

An inspiration to everyone

After Malta produced a poor goal-kick, Spain launched a counter-attack through Jesus Navas and the ball eventually found Cazorla who - in typically ambidextrous fashion - found the bottom corner.

It was his first strike for Spain in four years and two days. Incredible.

Cazorla should be an inspiration to us all. To reach the highest of heights in football and return to that point just four years on from almost losing a foot is simply indescribable.
