Luis Suarez will be remembered as one of the best strikers of his generation.

The Uruguayan has scored goals consistently throughout his career - most famously for Ajax, Liverpool and Barcelona - both at club level and on the international stage.

However, he will also be remembered as a footballer with a dark side.

Controversy has, unfortunately, marred the 32-year-old’s career.

He has bitten opponents on three separate occasions, he was found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra in 2011, while he had also been accused of play-acting and diving on numerous occasions.

In fairness to the South American, he has cleaned up his act since joining Barça in 2014.

There have been no further serious misdemeanours, and the win-at-all-costs mentality that possibly contributed to the biting incidents has subsided since he’s found himself playing alongside fellow world-class players, including his now close friend Lionel Messi.

Another teammate Suarez is close to in the Barça side is Gerard Pique, one of the club’s leaders.

And because Suarez is close to these players, he knows he can get away with playing pranks on them.

A video has been posted - from the upcoming documentary about the team - showing Suarez playing a rather cruel (and painful!) trick on Pique.

While Pique is stood up, Suarez decides to plant a toothpick upright on the Spanish defender’s seat.

After passing a teammate some bread, Pique sits down and gets a toothpick where no toothpick should ever end up.

Luckily for Suarez, Pique sees the funny side, despite the fact he was clearly in pain when he first sat down.

You can guarantee that, at some point, Pique will get his revenge.

The World Cup winner is a prankster himself, as Evra once revealed.

“One day Patrice Evra came in with shoes that he'd been asking Nike for months to make,” Pique recalled back in 2016.

“They had the name of his children on them and all these crazy details. He went into the shower and we created a small bonfire and burned them.

"We recorded it and then sent him the video.”

Evra, however, exacted his revenge - in the most disgusting way possible.

“They burn my trainers,” Evra said. “It wasn’t funny, it was actually Gerard Pique - and what I have done to him… I took his shoes and went into the toilet, and I sh*t inside them.”

Footballers, eh?
