An MMA fighter has produced what could be the best knockout of the year after he performed a rolling thunder heel kick KO at an MMA event in Brentwood, Essex. On Saturday night in the main event of Probellum London, British MMA star Ross Pearson came out of retirement to face Davy Gallon.Pearson made his name in UFC, as he was second British fighter to win The Ultimate Fighter in June 2009, going on to fight 25 times for the promotion with a 12-13 record (1 NC).A poor run of form saw him lose six of his last seven fights before announcing his retirement in March earlier this year following a first-round TKO loss to Desmond Green. However, the 35-year-old made his return to MMA on Saturday night, and unfortunately for him, it ended after a stunning KO in the third round.

Gallon was able to deliver a stunning rolling thunder heel kick on Pearson with to pick up the KO win with 35 seconds left to go in the round. The referee immediately sprinted between the two fighters to make sure no more damage was done.

The jaw-dropping KO left the commentators shocked, with one saying: "Oh s**t!" while the other shouted: "Oh my goodness! I don't even know what to call that! I have never seen a finish like that."

Many MMA fans on social media praised Gallon for his stunning KO win as well.

One fan said: "Davy Gallon might have just delivered the MMA knockout of the year with this ridiculous finish." Another fan said it was a 'KO of a lifetime.'

Pearson has fought against some notable names throughout his MMA career including Al Iaquinta and Jorge Masvidal, but this fight might the way many MMA fans remember his career.

It may be fair to say Pearson probably should have stayed in retirement, and he'll probably think twice before returning to the MMA cage again. He now has an overall pro-MMA record of 20-17(1 NC).

As for Gallon, the 30-year-old Frenchman moves to a pro-MMA record of 18-7 and two draws, picking up as well the fourth KO win of his career.
