Highly-rated Belgian midfielder Adnan Januzaj looks set to complete a dream move to Manchester United reports imscouting.com.
The 16-year-old winger is a product of the Anderlecht youth academy, but caught the eye of Red Devils scouts so much so that glowing reports fed back to Sir Alex Ferguson prompted him to orchestrate an immediate deal that would see Januzaj move to Old Trafford at the end of the current season.
Manchester United chiefs will reportedly offer the hottest prospect to come out of Belgium an ‘incredible’ four year contract worth an initial £120,000-per-year – making Januzaj one of the highest paid players in his age bracket reports the Daily Mirror.
Because of the player’s age, Anderlecht could do nothing to stop United from snatching Januzaj from their clutches, but the Red Devils will more than likely have to pay a ‘training and development’ fee for the privilege of bringing him into the Carrington academy set-up.
The Belgian champions had been talking to the player’s family and representatives for over three months in a bid to persuade him to stay in Brussels, but Anderlecht Sporting Director Herman Van Holsbeeck expressed his frustration at the breakdown in negotiations.
"For months now, we have been in meetings with the father of Januzaj to keep the player at Anderlecht, but at some point you cannot go any further," he told the Belgian media.
“The entourage of the player has decided to take the British club's offer, so we now await news from Manchester United."
The deal was by no means certain with Januzai grabbing the attention of a number of other top European clubs, and the player was keen to travel to all of them in order to fully consider his options.
However, Manchester United now look to have convinced the youngster that his future will be best served at Old Trafford under the stewardship of Ferguson and his array of coaching staff, and Januzaj is tipped to make rapid strides.
