Max Verstappen vs Lewis Hamilton at the Brazil Grand Prix was a true classic

F1 Grand Prix of USA

Formula One fans across the world would have been hoping to see the real emergence of Max Verstappen in the 2019 season.

The young Dutchman has blown fans of the sport away in recent seasons with some breathtaking performances and quite frankly ridiculous drives.

However, he's not quite got the consistency that the true elites have, and to be honest, nor has he got the car behind him.

In reality, the 2019 season has once again been all about Mercedes and all about Lewis Hamilton.

Sadly for neutrals of the sport, the German manufacturers completed seven one-twos in the first seven races, all-but ending the championship there and then.

Having said that, though, the future of the sport is certainly in good hands, especially considering Verstappen is around, and also it's worth mentioning Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

F1 took over Brazil this weekend, and it was home to one hell of a battle between the present and the future. Hamilton vs Verstappen.

Numerous close shaves, plenty of overtakes, and overall, just fantastic drama.

The Red Bull star started the Grand Prix on pole, and he drove superbly to defend that position, out manoeuvring Hamilton on numerous occasions to keep him at bay.

Quite frankly, words cannot do the race any justice, so simply sit back and watch these two clips of Max and Lewis doing battle.

If this is what we have to look forward to over the next couple of years, then bring it on!

In the end it was Verstappen who took the win, with his former teammate Pierre Gasly taking second and Hamilton (provisionally) taking third.

The Brit, however, eventually finished seventh after receiving a five-second penalty for his clash with Alexander Albon.

The Brazilian Grand Prix truly delivered this weekend, and that's even without mentioning the Ferrari duo wiping each other out near the end!
