Ian Wright made his ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ bow on Sunday evening, as the latest series of ITV’s popular reality show got underway.Wright, the Arsenal legend who now works as a pundit, currently finds himself in the Australian jungle alongside various well-known individuals including rugby player James Haskell, Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle and Caitlyn Jenner. They don’t exactly ease you in gently on ‘I’m a Celeb…’ and Wright described his first major task as the scariest thing he’s ever done in his life. The 56-year-old, who’d just been forced to race against four other celebrities in a swimming contest, then had to complete a perilous challenge off the top of a windswept skyscraper.Despite his nerves and the blustery conditions, Wright held it together and managed to complete the task, much to his relief.

While the challenge was being broadcast, football presenter Mark Pougatch filmed his ITV colleagues all watching the action from a room in Kosovo.

ITV were in Kosovo to cover England concluding their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with a 4-0 victory.

The likes of Lee Dixon and Glenn Hoddle all watched on anxiously for Wright, who also works for ITV, while Manchester United legend Roy Keane was also seen standing in the background with, wait for it… a rare smile on his face.

Commentator Clive Tyldesley also filmed what was surely the first moment Keane allowed himself to watch a reality TV show.

Roy Keane watching ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ and actually enjoying it. We never thought we’d see the day.

However, one Twitter user may have worked out why Keane appeared to be enjoying a reality TV show: ‘Finally found something that makes Roy Keane smile: Ian Wright almost falling off the top of a skyscraper.’

Here are some of the other best tweets…

Earlier in the day, Keane had taken a tongue-in-cheek dig at Wright, joking: “Well as an ex-Arsenal player, he will be frightened of a lot of things, won’t he?”

Prior to entering the jungle, Wright said when asked about his phobias: “Some of those things [snakes, rats and creepy crawlies] will make me squirm but I will deal with them when I am in there!”

The former England international will have the backing of all football fans over the next few weeks (well, with the exception of Tottenham supporters) - including Keano!
