Boxing legend George Foreman revealed that he never wanted to share a ring with fellow American Mike Tyson, in what is arguably one of the biggest fights never to have happened in the heavyweight division.

Reflecting on his historical career, Foreman shared with ESPN’s Max Kellerman on boxing that he did not want any part of Tyson as he was scared of him.

Iron Mike has also revealed that he was scared of Big George at the time, despite becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in the division at the age of just 20.

At the same time as Tyson emerged, Foreman returned to the ring after spending 10 years out of boxing.

Despite being 38, Foreman would go on to win 24 fights in row, the last one coming in 1991 against Evander Holyfield.

Foreman said, as per Daily Star: "That guy was a nightmare in the ring.

"If he missed you with his left, then missed you with his right, he'd bite you.

"I didn't want anything to do with that guy. He was sacred and I was glad of that.

I didn't want a part of Mike Tyson

Big George also shared his admiration for Tyson, concluding: “His footwork was outstanding and he could hit you very quickly. In his prime there was nothing like him.”

The American concluded that he would love to read another autobiography on Tyson following up on his Undisputed book released in 2014, as he believes that he has plenty more to share regarding his incredible career that featured memorable battles with Holyfield, Lennox Lewis and Frank Bruno.

Tyson, however, is currently busy keeping himself away from boxing by building a ‘weed ranch’ and producing his own podcast.
