Diehard Football Manager fan Andrej Pavlović went viral in October after he was offered a job at Serbian club FC Bežanija.

Pavlović was offered the chance to become a data analyst at the second-tier side after sending them a list of his achievements on the virtual management game.

The 22-year-old took charge of FC Bežanija and guided them to the Champions League semi-final in the space of 16 years.

He also helped them win 11 league titles and six Serbian cups.

"I'm not going to brag but I am somewhat of a legend in my Football Manager universe," Pavlović told SPORTbible.

In real life, FC Bežanija’s fortunates haven’t been so great. They’ve faced financial troubles and been relegated from the second division to the sixth.

Eager to help, Pavlović decided to get in contact with FC Bežanija and sent them his achievements on Football Manager on Facebook.

Pavlović received the number of the club’s director and sent him the same message.

After telling the director that he knew a little bit about data analysis and statistics, Pavlović was asked if he would like to provide a report on a game.

He said yes and has now been working at the club for a month, analysing data and also renovating their website and running their social media pages.

Pavlović has worked wonders

Pavlović has provided an update on the club’s fortunes and it seems he’s a miracle worker.

FC Bežanija are unbeaten since Pavlović came in, winning five and drawing one of their six matches.

They’ve also improved from 13th to sixth in the table.

Pavlović's analysis

Pavlović has shared some image of the analysis that he’s carried out during the past month on Reddit.

“I try to focus on attacking/defensive zones so we can really see where are we weak and strong,” he wrote.

And we thought nothing could come of our obsession with Football Manager…
