In the world of boxing, all it takes is one sweetly timed punch for the fight to be ended, proving why the sport remains so exciting for boxing consumers.

Over the years there have been controversial, shocking and memorable knockout punches that have shocked the sport and left boxing fans in awe.

A YouTube video from Cpt Jack has revealed 25 of the most memorable punches, including knockouts from several boxing superstars, past and present.

The video includes boxing legends Mike Tyson and Rocky Marciano, who were known for their knockout ability, as well as individuals like Breidis Prescott, who were unknown but left the same devastating act on their opponent.

The latter, Prescott, is a Colombian fighter who since his memorable knockout has lost more fights than he’s won, however, he will go down in history due to this one unforgettable left hand.

His opponent, rising British superstar Amir Khan, who was widely expected to become the number one pound-for-pound boxer on the planet.

Khan’s renowned weak chin suffered a huge hit from Prescott after just 42 seconds, which knocked the Brit out and ended his unbeaten professional career.

Another British fighter that was on the receiving end of a huge knockout punch was fan favourite Ricky Hatton.

Before this knockout, Hatton had lost only one professional bout, against one of the greatest fighters of all time Floyd Mayweather.

However, Philippine superstar Manny Pacquiao added a second loss to Hatton’s record with one of his most ruthless knockouts of all time.

Pacquiao was too slick for the ‘The Hitman’ and dropped his opponent in the second round with a perfectly timed left hook.

In May 2014, George Groves and Carl Froch had their rematch following a controversial first fight in the previous year.

This fight broke records and was held in front of 80,000 people at a packed-out Wembley Stadium, who were all desperate to see this British super-middleweight matchup.

Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch didn’t disappoint in his last professional fight, as he provided what he said was the best punch he’s ever landed.

This bitter rivalry was finished in the eighth round when Groves was dropped with a vicious right hand, that established Froch as one of the best British fighters to date.

Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and Floyd Mayweather also made the list with their own precise and memorable knockout punches.

There is no doubt that within the modern era of boxing, many more superstar fighters will produce destructive knockout blows that will join this list in the history books and be remembered by boxing fans forever.
